VirMiner is a software tool which provides comparatively comprehensive phage information in metagenomic data:

  1. Identifies phage contigs using reliable well-trained model
  2. Gets functional annotation for these phage contigs
  3. Predicts possible phage-host relationships using existing tools
  • Input: raw reads of metagenomic samples in FASTQ format and metadata file (optional).
  • Output: identified phage contigs along with their functional and host information.

Please see the detail information about example data on the help webpage.

The metagenomic raw sequences of example data

Note: The button "Example Data Output" is only used for display the output of VirMiner.

The size of the whole published human gut metagenomic dataset is very large (around 900GB in total for samples from the two conditions:Exposed 0 and Exposed 7). So here we just extracted a part of metagenomic raw reads as an example dataset, which was provided for users to test VirMiner. You can download all the example data files here (file size: 22.4G) , then you can start to test VirMiner with uploading these files using the buttons under the section "2) Or upload own data files:".
